Apprentice CNC Operator – Start Your Career with Ulster Shredders

Location: Castledawson (Magherafelt area), Northern Ireland
Job Type: Full‑Time Apprenticeship
Start Date: September 2025
Age: 16+ (Ideal for school leavers)

Are you hands-on, curious about engineering, and ready to start your career in manufacturing?

Join Ulster Shredders as an Apprentice CNC Operator and gain valuable skills while working in a modern, high-tech environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Learn how to set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision metal components
    Read technical drawings and follow machining instructions
  • Work alongside skilled engineers and mentors
  • Gain experience in a busy, lean-manufacturing environment
  • Study towards a recognised engineering qualification (fully supported)

What You’ll Need:

  • A good attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Interest in engineering, mechanics, or technology
  • GCSE Maths and English (or working towards them)
  • Enjoy practical, hands-on work
  • Reliable and a team player

Apprentice Assembly Fitter – Kickstart Your Career at Ulster Shredders

Location: Castledawson (Magherafelt area)
Job Type: Full-Time Apprenticeship

Are you practical, hands-on, and ready to learn a trade?
Join Ulster Shredders and start your engineering career with full support, training, and the chance to build real machines used around the world.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with our experienced team to assemble industrial shredders from start to finish
  • Learn how to read and follow mechanical assembly drawings
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment safely and confidently
  • Gain a full understanding of how heavy machinery is built, tested, and maintained
  • Study for a recognised engineering qualification (paid for and supported by us)

What We’re Looking For:

  • A keen interest in mechanics, engineering, or machinery
  • A good work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Basic understanding of tools or fixing things (from school, home, or hobbies)
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (or working towards them)

What You’ll Get:
